It almost feels like expediting at YLJ is a bit of a risk…

Just saw that 17 day YLJ rejection and noticed it had an expedite req attached to it. I’ve noticed this in past cycles too. I know that YLJ is explicit about having a thorough review process and that expedites don’t give them reason to circumvent it. But I can’t help but then wonder what the strategic plan is for when you get an offer while you’re still relatively early in their process.

Like, say you’re sitting at day 8 or 9 at YLJ and you get a 7-day deadline somewhere else. Do you expedite and basically force a decision before YLJ has had the amount of time it normally wants? Or do you just sit tight and hope they get to you before the deadline?
